Volunteers are fixing up a local home in need of repair.
It's Home Front Day in the region, and a home in Stamford is one of several in the area that is getting a bit of a makeover.
Nearly two dozen volunteers are fixing up the house of resident Ann Marie James. They are painting the back deck and the rooms inside the house on the first and second floors.
Volunteers from the Americares organization spent the day working on it. They fixed the plumbing and replaced windows and planted flowers.
The volunteers say that James, who lives in the house with her three foster children, deserves this makeover. They say that she gives back to the community, and now they are able to give back to her.
