Voters in Yonkers see long wait times on second day of early voting

Poll workers at the Will Public Library carried signs to alert voters that they could leave the line and travel to another location, where the wait was shorter than the nearly hourlong wait they were facing.

The promise of early voting convenience may not be coming true for everyone.
As crowds of early voters showed up at the Will Library on Central Park Avenue in Yonkers, many encountered long wait times in line. Others complained of not being able to find parking spaces in the library's parking lot.
"We had to park in the ballfield down there and then we walked across", said Daniel Zygmunt of Yonkers.
At one point, the lines were so long, that poll workers advised voters that they could leave the line and travel to another Yonkers location where the wait was shorter than the nearly hourlong wait they were facing at the library.
Amanda Pryzgoda of Yonkers decided to wait it out.
"This presents a way for me to get my vote in on time. Long lines on Election Day are more of a headache at that point," she said.
Early voting in New York state continues until Nov. 3.
