WalletHub has ranked the top U.S. state capitals to live in, and Hartford is 49th in the nation.
Only Trenton, New Jersey was worse at 50th.
Jackson, Mississippi, Montgomery, Alabama and Providence, Rhode Island round out the bottom five.
The top three include Austin, Texas, Madison, Wisconsin, and Boise Idaho.
The rankings are based on affordability, economic well-being, quality of education and health, and quality of life.
