Temperatures were unseasonably warm Friday much to the delight of beachgoers in Westport.
News 12 was at Compo Beach, where people wearing T-shirts and shorts enjoyed the 50-degree weather.
"The fact that we're standing on the beach right now in barely a jacket - it's pretty exceptional," said Tom Triscari, of Westport.
Many lifelong residents who spoke to News 12 say it was the first beach day they've had during the winter season in a very long time.
News 12 forecasters expect Saturday to be just as warm, with temperatures in the low 50s.
