Family and friends are mourning the death of a student from Western Connecticut State University in Danbury.

A vigil was held last night at the Danbury Campus for Michael Deangelo, 19, of East Haven.

State police say Deangelo died in a car crash on I-95 yesterday. 

They say his car went off the road in Old Lyme and crashed into a sound barrier. 

The school's head baseball coach says the freshman was a first baseman, and though he'd only played in one varsity game, he made his mark.
