A cold front will bring a quick coating to 2" of snow on Sunday morning creating slippery conditions early. This is not an all-day event and will bring just nuisance issues. The snow on Sunday comes with a blast of cold air. Temperatures will be bitterly cold Sunday afternoon through Monday night with highs near or below freezing and morning lows in the teens.
A mid-week storm arrives Tuesday, but it continues to look warmer and weaker than earlier model guidance suggested. We expect a brief snow on Tuesday in the afternoon and evening before transitioning to rain in Fairfield and New Haven. Plowable snow is more likely farther north in Litchfield with the Tuesday Wednesday storm.
The Next Few Days
It's a mild Friday afternoon with high temperatures in the low 40s under abundant sunshine. Overnight tonight is cold. Temperatures are below freezing after 9 p.m. with lows in the mid-20s Saturday morning.
Saturday is the pick of the week. Temperatures are in the mid to upper 40s with some morning clouds and then increasing sunshine.
Snow arrives on Sunday morning with a coating to 2" expected. Mostly cloudy skies return in the afternoon with temperatures in the 30s.
It is very cold Sunday night and Monday. Temperatures are in the teens Monday morning and highs are in the 20s.
With Snow to Rain expected Tuesday into Wednesday, warmer weather will follow with highs in the 40s and 50s for the end of the week.
