The owner of a bagel shop in Westport says he could be forced to close his doors for good.

Alex Perdomo, owner of Bagel Maven on Post Road East, says he faced a tough winter and fell behind on his rent. He's all caught up now, but says he knows he broke his lease and the owner is reluctant to take another chance on him.

Today may have been the shop's last Sunday. To thank his customers, the owner gave away free bagels.

Loyal customers were shocked to hear the news.

Perdomo says if forced to close, he has hopes of reopening elsewhere. For now, he says the shop will open as usual on Monday, but could close as soon as Tuesday.
