The Westport Prevention Coalition is hosting the first Westport Night Out at the Westport Weston Family YMCA. The night is specifically designed for teens. The event will include basketball, volleyball, free pizza and desserts, games, music and even prizes. Westport teens explained the need for a safe alternative to house parties. "We're doing this basically because there were some unsafe things happening at teen parties and get-togethers. I think we just really wanted a safe space for all of us to get together. I think it's also a huge opportunity to meet new people," said Laci Giorlando, a Westport student. Westport Night Out is open to all students who live in Westport or attend school in Westport.

Registration is limited to 75 teens. However, the Westport Prevention Coalition says they are hoping to make these events quarterly.
