Multiple gunshots were fired on Sunrise Road Tuesday.
It happened around 9:45 p.m. on Sunrise Road. Westport police are investigating.
Police said they were called to the area after a neighbor reported hearing gunshots.
Police said from speaking with workers at a nearby business, they determined shots were fired from a white car as it turned onto Sunrise Road from Saugatuck Avenue.
Sunrise Road from Saugatuck Avenue to Indian Hill Road was temporarily closed as detectives collected evidence. Multiple 9 mm shell casings were recovered, police said.
Police said no people, homes or cars were hit by the gunfire.
"Nobody that was involved in a fight or dispute," Lt. Eric Woods said. "We don't know if this was just an incident of driving around and shooting a gun or what. But we don't have anything to support anything more than that at this point."
Police continue to search for the suspect or suspects. They're asking homeowners with surveillance video of the area to check their footage for suspicious activity.
Anyone with information is asked to call 203-341-6080.
