High school students in Westport helped children in Bridgeport knock out all of their holiday shopping in one day.
As part of the National Charity League, 11th-graders from Staples High School in Westport teamed up with Caroline House in Bridgeport to stage a free holiday bazaar.
The children got gifts for their family members, an idea originally pitched by a Staples student seven years ago. Sister Peg Regan of Caroline House said it's a great learning opportunity for the children.
"It was an inspiration, I think ... to help the children to celebrate with their family and teach them about giving," she said.
Caroline House offers English and citizenship classes to women and after-school programs for their children.
