A dramatic crash caught on surveillance video is putting a spotlight on long-standing safety concerns at a busy Bed-Stuy intersection after two cars slammed into a Yoga studio that was preparing to open its doors.

Dr. Mason Mason says he was just weeks away from opening Noir Yoga at Fulton Street and Marcus Garvey Boulevard when a violent collision Tuesday night sent two vehicles crashing into the building.

"I really was flabbergasted," Mason said.

Police say the crash stemmed from an apparent road rage incident. Two drivers and a pedestrian were taken to the hospital with injuries that included broken ribs and a broken ankle.

The drivers, identified as 56-year-old Anthony Hayes and 43-year-old Robert Walker, are now facing multiple charges, including driving while intoxicated, vehicular assault and reckless endangerment, and reckless driving.

Just a few months ago, another vehicle crashed into the same building.

"A car ran up on the curb, crashed into the facade," Mason said. “They needed to replace the glass and fix the brick. We've been here before."

The two businesses next door told News 12 that cars have also hit their buildings multiple times over the years.

Now they're calling on the city to install barriers to stop vehicles before they hit the building, and speed bumps to slow down cars before the intersection.

According to Vision Zero data, at least nine people have been injured in crashes at Fulton Street and Marcus Garvey Boulevard since 2025.

Residents say crossing the intersection can be especially challenging, with drivers often making turns as pedestrians try to enter the crosswalk.

A spokesperson for the Department of Transportation told News 12 that the agency will review requests from the community about safety at that intersection.

Meanwhile, the crash has forced Noir Yoga to delay its grand opening.
