The mayoral candidates in Bridgeport took their campaign message to the airwaves.
The seven candidates participated in a debate on WICC radio Tuesday.
Topics included gun violence in the city, job creation, education, the environment and taxes.
After a contentious primary, Democratic candidate Joe Ganim and Independent candidate Mary Jane Foster say they want voters to look to the future.
Meanwhile, Foster appears to be having trouble raising funds for her race.
A new report on campaign funds says Ganim has a commanding lead in funds in the Bridgeport mayoral race.
Campaign finance reports show that as of Sept. 30, Ganim had more than $51,000 to spend, and since then his campaign says it has raised an additional $45,000.
Republican candidate Enrique Torres had just over $21,000 to spend and has raised about $16,000 since the 30th.
Independent Mary-Jane Foster had just $3,700, but has raised over $50,000 in the last two weeks.
News 12 Connecticut will be hosting a debate with all of Bridgeport's candidates on our program Focus on Connecticut this weekend.
