WHAT TO KNOW
  • Breezy this morning, becoming windy this afternoon
  • A Wind Advisory is in effect from noon until midnight today. Gusts 40+ mph are expected this afternoon.
  • Still breezy on Saturday, but otherwise a nice weekend!
  • Daylight Saving Time ENDS on Saturday night. Clocks fall back 1 hour.
Yesterday's storm was a soaker, by far the wettest day in 2025 for Bridgeport where more than 2" of rain fell. Bridgeport officially reported 2.44" on Oct. 30 which makes it the 10th wettest October day on record and the wettest day in Bridgeport since March 2024. The highest rain totals occurred in northern Fairfield and New Haven County where there were reports of 4" of rain, but most of western Connecticut saw within the 2 to 3" range.
This same storm will have very strong wind on the back side of it so while it will be dry for Halloween today, it's wickedly windy.
The National Weather Service has issued a Wind Advisory for the entire state of Connecticut from noon until midnight. Winds will be steady at 20-30 mph this afternoon, but gusts could surpass 40 mph at times. This is strong enough to knock down tree limbs in spots.
The Weekend: Temperatures will be near average for the remainder of the week, and the wind will gradually ease this weekend. Both Saturday and Sunday will feature plenty of sunshine and highs in the mid to upper 50s. Saturday morning will be breezy, with gusts still more than 30 mph at times, but the wind on Sunday will be light at 10 mph.
Next Week: A stray shower is possible next Monday, but at this time no significant weather is expected for the work week. Temperatures will be mild to start, near 60, and cool to finish with widespread frosts and freezes by Thursday morning.
