FORECAST:
Periods of rain and strong winds will impact the area today, with showers continuing into the afternoon. There is possibility of thunder early on. Gusty winds will make it feel blustery at times and localized downpours could briefly reduce visibility for travel.
Conditions will improve heading into Saturday with drier weather and some sunshine, though it stays on the cooler side.
Sunday looks brighter, calmer and will offer a break from the unsettled pattern.
Early next week will be overall chilly with mainly dry conditions. Another system will potentially bring wintry precipitation by midweek, followed by milder air and additional rain chances heading toward the holiday.
Today: Windy and wet with periods of heavy rain and a chance for a thunderstorm early. Temperatures rise into the low-to-mid 50s, then fall into the mid-to-upper 40s by afternoon.
Saturday: Mostly sunny but cooler and breezy. Highs in the low 40s with lingering wind chills early.
Sunday: Bright and calmer. Highs in the mid 40s.
Monday: Sunny and colder. Highs in the low-to-mid 30s.
Tuesday: Mostly cloudy with snow possible early, mixing with rain at times. Highs in the upper 30s to near 40.
Wednesday: Mostly sunny and milder. Highs in the low-to-mid 40s.
Christmas Day: Mostly cloudy with periods of rain possible. Highs in the mid 40s.
