NOW AND NEW: Storm Watch Team Meteorologist Steve Teeling says a wintry mix this evening will transition to heavy rain overnight. Northern Litchfield County will probably see rain and freezing rain after several inches of snow. The rain will be heavy at times before ending early Saturday morning. It also will be windy Friday night into Saturday with some of the winds out of the east gusting 40-50 mph. Coastal flooding is also possible 7–11 a.m. Saturday with that strong east wind and high tide.
NEXT: Sunday will be partly sunny and breezy with highs in the 40s. The next system to affect us will be on late Monday night into Tuesday morning with some rain and snow showers possible.
TONIGHT: Snow to sleet to rain in our southern counties, snow to a wintry mix in northern Litchfield County. The rain will be heavy at times with a rumble of thunder possible. Windy conditions with some gusts overnight between 40-50 mph, especially along the shoreline. Low of 37.
