Bridgeport police say a school bus driver and an aide are doing fine after power wires fell onto a bus at Mead Street and Central Avenue on Tuesday.
Police say a dump truck was heading out of Bridgeport Hospital when it hit the low-hanging wires.
The wires then fell onto a passing school bus, electrifying the bus and a fence.
"Anybody who touched that fence would have been electrocuted," said Bridgeport Police Capt. AJ Perez.
Police say the bus driver and an aide were the only people in the bus at the time. They say the two stayed in the bus and remained calm as the fire department and United Illuminating Company shut off the power.
Police say power was cut off in a small, isolated area of Bridgeport Hospital as a result of the incident but say power has since been restored.
