The New Cannan woman charged with fatally hitting an 82-year-old man with her car made a brief appearance before a judge today.
Kate Regan, 32, is accused of taking off after hitting Krishna Jayaraman with her SUV on Oenoke Ridge Road in New Canaan back in 2010.
Jayaraman's family says he was at the mailbox getting the mail when he was hit and left to die in the road.
Today, a judge put the case on his trial list after the prosecutor and Regan's defense attorney failed to reach a settlement.
Regan faces charges of negligent homicide and evading responsibility. Both sides will continue to try to resolve the case before the trial, officials say.
