A Bridgeport woman was living in a hotel since February after she says she was evicted from her apartment by a man posing as a state marshal.
Police arrested former state marshal Charlie Valentino earlier this week on dozens of counts of criminal impersonation and forgery. He resigned from the force in 2013.
Dawna Melvin was among Valentino's alleged victims. In her first public comments on the incident, she says Valentino left her feeling violated and depressed.
She only recently moved into a new home after members of her church had helped pay for her motel room since the unlawful eviction.
Valentino denies any wrongdoing and is currently out on bond.
Police say he's also being investigated for allegedly illegally auctioning cars owned by Bridgeport residents who owe back taxes.
