A servicewoman from Orange is now the Army's first female infantry officer.
Officials approved Capt. Kristen Griest's transfer from the military police to the infantry branch on Monday.
Griest graduated from a military career course today wearing a blue infantry cord.
Griest was one of the first two women to graduate from U.S. Army Ranger School.
