A Bronx teenager was in for the surprise of his life when he got a Yankees-themed bedroom makeover, carried out in part by some of the Yankees themselves.

It was part of the Yankees' Hope Week. Said Rivera, 18, who has cerebral palsy, was surprised by volunteers from the group Blissful Bedrooms, who set out to build him a special room of his own in his Morrisania building.

"We do bedroom makeovers for young individuals who have severe disabilities and use wheelchairs, and that's because they spend a lot of time in their bedrooms," says Martha Gold-Dvoryadkin, of Blissful Bedrooms.

As the crew got to work, they got some help from none other than Alex Rodriguez, Aroldis Chapman, Didi Gregorius and more Yankees.

Asked how he judged his own painting skills, A-Rod said, "Not good, but I enjoyed it... To be able to go into the community and share some time, even if it's a few hours, it's really enjoyable and it's great."

To end his special day, Said Rivera got to throw out the first pitch at Yankee Stadium.
