The ExxonMobil chemical plant in Stratford closed Friday as a continuation of a shutdown process that began in 2005.
Management handed out severance packages and answered questions. One hundred workers were let go after the initial shutdown, and the rest left Friday.
A skeleton crew will remain on staff throughout the summer. According to management, the plant will likely be sold in the fall.
