Tuesday marked the first day of spring, but the bright and sunny skies will have to wait until after the month’s fourth nor’easter.
News 12’s Suzanne Goldklang was at Dairy Queen on Post Road in Fairfield where the chain gave away free cones as a way of spreading spring cheer.
“I've been here 38 years, I don't ever remember it being this cold this time of year,” said DQ owner Nick Frattaroli.
The impending storm could bring a foot of snow to the area.
Some residents headed to Hemlock Hardware to purchase snowmelt and shovels.
“I think the saying is March comes in like a lion and out like a lamb,” said owner Scott Pesavento. “The lamb's not showing up to this party.”
