News 12 has learned new details regarding the timeline of events leading up to the death of Dominican social media star Franchesca Lizandro, better known as Franchesca La Profeta.
On Sept. 28, Lizandro punched out from her job at the restaurant Brooklyn Crab for the last time. Her roommate, whom News 12 spoke with earlier, claims she had been overworked and run-down on the day she went into work, suffered a possible asthma attack and later died.
Previously, Lizandro's employer said he did not want to comment out of respect for her family. But now, in a statement to News 12, he says Lizandro never worked seven days in a row, or more than 10 hours on any given day for the past two weeks. He provided time-punch records.
He also said Lizandro did call in late the morning of her passing, but didn't say she was ill. He said she told her sous-chef that she had a function earlier in the day. Her roommate, though, maintains that Lizandro was called in last-minute and was in the hospital earlier that day, claiming the manager threatened to fire her if she didn't come to work.
But Brooklyn Crab provided her schedule, which shows she was actually booked to work. Her boss says he never knew of an asthma condition and that she was a "valued employee of Brooklyn Crab."
Lizandro's funeral service was held on Tuesday. The exact cause of death has not yet been determined.
