A Bayport man is back on dry land after spending two hours stranded in the Great South Bay.
Police say William Sullivan, of Bayport, left Homans Creek on a Jet Ski around 6:30 p.m. Tuesday.
Sullivan's wife called 911 when he didn't return after an hour.
Just after 8 p.m. Tuesday, Sullivan's unattended Jet Ski was found off Barrett Beach.
Police say Sullivan was knocked off the Jet Ski by a wave and was forced to swim and float for about two hours.
The 52-year-old eventually reached the shore near the East End of Fire Island Pines and called 911.
Sullivan was taken to the hospital and checked out.
