A pedestrian was struck by a car and injured in Bridgeport Wednesday.

Police: Pedestrian struck, injured by car in Bridgeport
A pedestrian was struck by a car and injured in Bridgeport Wednesday.

Police say it happened Wednesday afternoon near State Street and Howard Avenue.

The victim was taken to the hospital with injuries that are not considered life-threatening.

Police say the driver stayed on scene.

The cause of the accident is under investigation.
