The search for a missing New Canaan mother of five has led investigators to a trash facility in Hartford. It comes as police appeal to the public for video that may help in their investigation to find her.
Chief Leon Krolikowski of the New Canaan Police Department sent a message to New Canaan residents asking for help in the search for Jennifer Dulos.
Police are looking for video surveillance from homes or businesses that show cars driving by, specifically anything from Wednesday, May 22 to Saturday, May 25.
Dulos was last seen dropping her kids off at school Friday, May 24. Her car was later found abandoned at Waveny Park. That's where FBI investigators returned Monday to search. State police combed through a trash facility in Hartford Tuesday morning.
Dulos' estranged husband, Fotis Dulos, and his girlfriend, Michelle Troconis, have both been arrested in connection to the case. They have been charged with tampering with or fabricating evidence and hindering prosecution.
The arrest warrants show police found blood at Jennifer Dulos' home in New Canaan along with evidence that someone tried to clean up the scene. The documents also say police recovered bloody items in trash cans in Hartford and tests confirmed the blood was from Jennifer Dulos.
Surveillance cameras caught Fotis Dulos and his girlfriend throwing that evidence out, according to authorities. The New Canaan community Monday night reacted to the developments by putting candles out on their porches for Dulos.
Dulos' mother, Gloria Farber, has filed for custody of her five grandchildren.
Court documents show the children have been staying at Farber's home in New York City, along with their longtime nanny, since May 24 -- the day their mother disappeared.
Jennifer Dulos had been going through a contentious two-year divorce and custody battle with her estranged husband. In court documents she said she was afraid of him.
Fotis Dulos was still in jail Tuesday evening on a $500,000 bond. An attorney representing the children has filed a motion that he have no contact with them should he get out.
Anyone who may have surveillance video is asked to contact New Canaan police.
