Health and emergency officials in Wilton are preparing Monday for a possible flu pandemic.

As residents get their flu shots at Driscoll Elementary School, they'll be taking part in a critical drill that evaluates how ready the town is for a worldwide flu outbreak.

The main goal of the drill is to move people through as quickly and accurately as possible. Police, alongside a volunteer civilian emergency squad, are directing traffic in the parking lot. Inside, patients fill out a short form and get a time stamp before receiving their shots.

Folks have been moving through in an average of eight minutes. ?We?re trying to (move?) people through as fast as we can and as safely as we can to really simulate the effect that we have to immunize 18,000 people,? said Chief Paul Milositz, of Wilton Fire and Emergency Management.
