A Greenwich man died Monday morning after crashing his SUV through a fence and into a tree.
Police say 49-year-old Robert Risman was driving south on Lake Avenue when he crashed just after 5 a.m. It happened on the front lawn of a Greenwich home.
Bob Burns, who lives in the Lake Avenue home, says he and his wife heard the crash and thought it was an explosion or thunder. He says the motor and battery of Risman?s car were thrown more than 50 yards.
Police say it appears Risman died on impact.
