Bridgeport police say one person is dead and another is injured following a shooting early Sunday morning.
According to police, brothers Miguel and Jose Martinez went to 723 Ogden St. just after 1 a.m. to confront Efrain Rivera about threats he allegedly made against them. An altercation ensued, and Rivera allegedly shot the brothers.
Police arrested Rivera, 39, shortly after. They say he confessed to the shooting after being apprehended.
Miguel Martinez, 34, was rushed to Bridgeport Hospital, where he was pronounced dead. Jose Martinez, 32, was shot in the shoulder and was taken to St. Vincent's Hospital. He is expected to be OK.
Rivera is facing charges of murder, criminal attempt at murder and first-degree assault. He is being held on $1 million bond.
The shooting marks the city's sixth homicide of the year.
