A 14-year-old boy has been charged in connection to a shooting at the Danbury Mall that injured a girl, police say.

A 14-year-old boy has been charged in connection to a shooting at the Danbury Mall that injured a girl, police say.
The 14-year-old Danbury boy turned himself into police while accompanied by his parents and attorney yesterday.  
He was charged with assault, reckless endangerment, unlawful discharge of firearm, carrying a pistol without a permit, risk of injury to a minor, and breach of peace. Police say they also recovered the handgun used in the incident.
Police say a 15-year-old girl was shot in the chest at the mall on Aug. 11 after a fight. She was transported to Danbury Hospital and is expected to be OK.
The 14-year-old suspect was transported to the Bridgeport Juvenile Detention Center.
