A Black Rock resident told News 12 that longtime veterinarian Dr. Amr Wasfi was still practicing despite having his license permanently revoked after animal cruelty charges.

Amy Vlicky says she was shocked to find out that Wasfi was still practicing. He agreed to give up his license permanently as part of an agreement with the court.

Vlicky, 37, says she took her 9-year-old Chihuahua mix "Precious" to Black Rock Animal Hospital on Sept. 29 to get medical care. Wasfi treated her dog with the lights off in most of the practice and said he would only take cash.

Vlicky says he gave her a handwritten receipt without his name on it and a prescription bottle that also excluded his name.

Bridgeport police told News 12 Connecticut on Monday that they are investigating the allegation but cannot comment.

News 12 reached out to Wasfi's attorney but he declined to comment.
