Police: Foul play not suspected in death of Milford man pulled from harbor

Milford police identified the man pulled from the harbor Tuesday as Russell Pisacane, 51, of Milford.

"Then the boaters advised us that they were going to hook the body in and bring it back to shore," PFC Brianna MacDonald said.
A large police and fire presence responded to the boat ramp downtown, which is usually a pretty serene scene.
"At the time, when we arrived, we didn't know exactly what we had, so we treated it you know as a crime scene and taped everything off," MacDonald explained. "But throughout the investigation so far, we do not believe there was any foul play or anything suspicious."
MacDonald told News 12 police suspect Pisacane drowned, but they're still awaiting the autopsy results.
"We saw him a lot out and about in Milford, and he did frequent the downtown area," MacDonald said.
She explained they don't know how or why Pisacane ended up in the water but believe he was there less than a day. Someone reported possibly seeing him on one of the piers the night before, according to MacDonald.
"I know there have been a lot of questions about whether there was foul play, or it was suspicious, and it was not, so we urge everyone to not be worried about anything of that sort," she explained.
News 12 spoke with one of the boaters who found Piscacane. He's a retired Fairfield firefighter. He said he was happy to help and just glad they were in the right place at the right time, otherwise the body could've drifted out to sea.
