Bridgeport police said on Sunday they're close to making a second arrest in a drive-by shooting that left a Bridgeport Housing Authority worker dead.
Police made the announcement on the one-year anniversary of the killing which took place at Stratford and Union avenues on the East End.
Authorities say 28-year-old Bran'Daja Winston was an innocent bystander.
Her mother Tamekah Rudd renewed her plea for justice.
"I want these people to be held accountable for everything they've done, absolutely," Rudd said.
"We know, after looking into this incident, that Bran'Daja and the male victim were just out here on a Saturday night with other people, having fun, enjoying themselves when they were shot in a random shooting. They were not the intended targets," said Bridgeport police Detective Jeffrey Holtz.
Police say they arrested a person last year and expect to make a second arrest soon, with more anticipated in the coming weeks.
