Fairfield police officers arrested 19-year-old Kevin Orban from Fairfield on June 3 for charges of criminal attempt to commit larceny.

The charges follow an investigation that linked Orban to a social media message sent to Fairfield Preparatory School on April 23.

Officials determined that Orban sent the message in an attempt to extort $200,000 from the school.

Orban was released on a promise to appear and was due in Bridgeport Superior Court on June 12.
