Pedestrian killed in early morning hit-and-run crash in Hartford

Upon arrival, officers found a female pedestrian suffering from serious injuries.

Hartford police responded to a report of a car striking a pedestrian at approximately 3:48 a.m. along Ledyard Street.

Upon arrival, officers found the victim seriously injured. She was then taken to a local hospital, where she later died.

Officials identified the victim as Keyshia M. Ortiz-Benitez.

Authorities from the Hartford Police Department say that the vehicle that struck Ortiz-Benitez fled from the scene, headed south from Ledyard Street.

At this time, there are no arrests. The Hartford Crime Scene Division is investigating the incident.
