'We're furious.' Bridgeport neighbors fed up with repeated flooding, call on city to act

They say when it rains, it pours. But on Savoy Street in Bridgeport, when it rains, it floods.
"The worst was two weeks ago, and then again today," neighbor Dale Foti says. "We had water in our sinks down in the basement... I couldn't keep up."
Residents say the neighborhood has had a flooding problem for 50 years, and they want the city to finally do something about it.
"We're furious," Foti says. "Nothing is getting done. We've been here forever, and we pay very high taxes here in Bridgeport."
The neighborhood is located between two hills.
Foti says the next street over, Marsdale Avenue, doesn't have any storm drains.

Foti claims she spoke to Bridgeport city officials a few years ago about the problem.
The city denied News 12's repeated requests for comment.
Neighbors are left wondering if the problem will ever be fixed.
"It's frightening because I have elderly parents, and I take care of them full-time," Foti says. "All we're asking for is please help us... stop this from happening."
