A car slammed into a building in Larchmont Monday afternoon after the driver accidentally pressed the gas pedal instead of the brake while trying to park.
The crash happened on Gilder Street and caused significant damage to the structure.

Everyone inside the building got out safely, according to emergency crews.
The New Rochelle Collapse Unit was called in to shore up the building and ensure it was stable. Crews remained at the scene Monday to secure the structure.
Larchmont Fire Department Chief Richard Valentine said the building was posted as uninhabitable until the property owner works with the village building department and contractors to complete the necessary repairs.
Officials have not said how long the repairs could take. News 12 is working to learn more about the type of building involved.
