Stamford police say three men were stabbed around 2:00 a.m. Sunday while possibly trying to stop a fight.
According to police, one man is in critical condition after being stabbed in the chest with a steak knife outside Bachata restaurant at the corner of East Main and Lafayette Streets. Another man was stabbed in the back and a third man was slashed in the face.
Police say they are still investigating the incidents but believe that all three victims were inside Bachata restaurant when a fight broke out. They came outside to try to intervene and were attacked.
Police are looking for several suspects, as they believe multiple people are responsible for the stabbings. Officials say the investigation has been slowed by a language barrier between them and Spanish speaking community members.
