Four Greenwich teenagers are facing larceny and burglary charges for allegedly stealing merchandise and cash from a Stamford gym Tuesday night.
Police say an officer discovered the teens sitting inside two cars by Rosa Hartman Park, next to the Sportsplex on Brownhouse Road, while looking for suspects in an unrelated crime.
Inside one of the vehicles, police say they found equipment stolen from the gym, including a flat-screen TV. Police also say the owner of the gym is missing cash.
Police found no signs of forced entry at the gym, which led them to believe the theft was an inside job.
?We're looking at a possible connection between either a current or a former employee,? says Lt. Sean Cooney. ?It seems as if they knew how to get in, they knew what items would be there for the taking.
The three 17-year-olds and one 16-year-old are free on $2,500 bond and face charges of third-degree larceny and burglary. Police say their vehicles have been impounded as part of the investigation.
