A project that aims to alleviate congestion and boost business along a local stretch of I-95 is slated to begin this summer. The $43 million project will add speed-change lanes between exits 14 and 15 and replace three overpass bridges on Cedar Street and Taylor and Fairfield avenues. State officials say the cost of construction will be less than half of their original estimate. State Sen. Bob Duff (D-Norwalk) says the project will not only save taxpayers money, but it will bring long-term benefits to local businesses along I-95 that may have been avoided because of highway traffic. The construction project is set to begin in June and end in 2015.
