The town of Greenwich has sworn in five new police officers.
The chief says three of the five officers have ties to town.
"We're a very community-oriented police department, so those officers were able to hit the ground running, they know the community, they're engaged in the community, again not just knowing the roads, they know the people," says Greenwich Police Chief Jim Heavey. "They know the circumstances, they know the hotspots so it will certainly give them an advantage and also an advantage to us because of their community involvement."
The other two recruits previously served in New York City as a police auxiliary officer and a corrections officer.
