It has been more than three years since a young mother from Litchfield was found dead in a pond, and now the state is offering a $50,000 reward to try to solve the case.
Kelsey Mazzamaro was 26 years old back in 2018 when a motorist noticed her body in a pond along Upson Road. She was able to be identified by her tattoo, and an investigation found she had been strangled, but no arrest has been made.
Mazzamaro's father, Carl Mazzamaro, recalled his daughter as very intelligent, with a quirky sense of humor who loved her children.
Carl Mazzamaro said Monday was the first time he had ever visited the place where his daughter's body was found.
“Do the right thing,” he said. “That's all I am saying. Do the right thing. Make that phone call and put an end to this.”
Kelsey Mazzamaro left behind two young children. Police say they want to be able to tell them what happened to their mother.
