Help is on the way to organizations across Connecticut working to stop gun violence.
Each organization will get more than $88,000 distributed by the Department of Health.
Greater Bridgeport Area Prevention Program and Career Resources Inc. and Hang Time in Bridgeport are just two of those organizations in our area.
The Department of Health plans to inaugurate a new office in January with a targeted focus on preventing gunshot-related violence. Presently, the department is actively recruiting staff for this specialized unit.
