Afternoon thunderstorms bring gusty winds, rain to western Connecticut

The National Weather Service issued a thunderstorm warning for parts of western Connecticut Tuesday as strong storms swept through the area.
Scattered thunderstorms and 60 mph winds hit Stamford and Norwalk.

A wind advisory will go into effect from 5 p.m. Tuesday to 2 a.m. Wednesday.
A freeze warning will also go into effect from midnight to 9 a.m. Wednesday.
