1h agoAttorney General William Tong announced a $35 million settlement with Tempoe LLC leasing service.
The settlement comes after a multi-month investigation revealed that Tempoe's marketing and sales practices misled customers to believe they were signing up for an installment plan when in reality they entered a lease agreement.
Products included home appliances, home furniture and car parts.
The misleading practices often led to consumers paying nearly two to three times more than the original price of the product.
