A man who was charged with setting fire to a home back in April was charged Thursday in Milford Superior Court with murder.
Theodore Lloyd, 27, was charged with murder and tampering with physical evidence.
Lloyd's mother Tina, 70, was found dismembered and placed in garbage bags on March 24 in a home on Nahawena Avenue.
Police say they found her body during a welfare check in March.
During the search, police say they found 14 plastic bags containing her remains along with evidence of lighter fluid at the scene, indicating he tried to cover up the killing.
Lloyd is being held on a $3 million bond on the murder and tampering with evidence charge.
He is due back in court in September.
