A store in Stamford offering unique, handcrafted items held its grand opening Saturday.
"Against the Grain" on Washington Boulevard sells furniture, gifts and other household items.
The co-owner of the store, Beth Meier, says it originated in Cape Cod and features products from more than 100 different vendors across the country.
Meier tells News 12 Connecticut the store's name expresses what their story is all about.
"We feel like we're a little bit against the grain because most stores you go into everything is China made or made overseas and we were really passionate about the quality that we have and mostly everything is U.S. made and it's really important to us," says Meier.
The store also offers customized items.
