Connecticut State Police announced Tuesday that every state trooper will be getting a Naloxone kit.

The nasal spray, also known as Narcan, can reverse a heroin or opioid overdose. Officials say the spray is extremely easy to use and compare it to an allergy medication people spay into their noses.

All troopers will have kits by the spring.

Over the last four years, Connecticut has seen a 45% drop in overdose deaths.

Last year, the state distributed 80,000 kits.
