An American Princeton University student has been arrested in Iran and sentenced to 10 years in prison.
Xiyue Wang is accused of spying for the U.S., and according to an Iranian judiciary official, would hinder relations between the two countries.
Wang, a graduate student in history, vanished in Iran several months ago where he was doing research for a doctoral thesis.
Iranian officials say they have caught one of “America's Infiltrators,” but didn't directly reference Wang.
Reports also say Wang is fluent in Persian, and he used the skill to archive 4,500 pages of Iranian documents.
