A local nonprofit has given a giving a wheelchair-accessible van to a Bridgeport woman who's a paraplegic.
Jossie Perez tells News 12 she turned her life around after making mistakes in the past, and is now back on the road to independence.
The mother of two says the van she currently owns is broken and would be too expensive to repair.
The head of Amy's Angels tells News 12 he's thrilled to help Perez make a new start in life.
Perez saying it's never too late to turn over a new leaf and begin paying it forward.
